"Cervical spine req fusion C6-C7, C7-T1 (twice) staph, spinal epidural abscess, paraplegia, RSD, extreme chronic pain in neck, head, left leg and foot, lower back, extreme nerve pain lower back on down"
It began in '94 with numbness, severe pain in arms, neck, head area. Had cervical fusion C6-C7, C7-T1 9/94. Began to improve, then worsened. It took months to finally get approval for needed refusion surgery to same area due to a failed fusion, which was done 10/96. Began to feel numbness, extreme pain, and loss of function in lower body.
After not being able to get anyone to listen to me, I entered the emergency room on 9/97, where it was found I had a staph infction that caused a spinal epidural and psoas abscess. A laminectomy, etc., was done on 14/97 to remove the staph and pressure on my spinal cord. It resulted in my being an incomplete paraplegic, have RSD, extreme chronic pain to left leg and foot and lower back, with somewhat lesser degree of pain to my right lower side. Had anyone listened to me, all this could have been avoided.
To make matters worse, my ex company told L&I that I returned to work in '97 (which was not true...I'll never work again) and they cut off my time loss benefits. Upon learning the truth, L&I ordered Boeing o reinstate my time loss, but instead of doing so, they appealed, which left me without any income from them until just last month. As a result, we had to file bankruptcy.
There is a lot more, but this will give you some idea of how I have been treated by my ex employer and L&I.
