Back Injury From Falling Boxes
I was injured march 15,My employer sent me to the Hospital. I was taking Fries out of the freezer they were frozen together was trying to get them unfroze and pulled up on the top box. they were stacked 6 boxes high) weighing at 35lbs.one slipped and I tried catching it..anyways .My employer sent me to the hospital. Because I hurt my back. the Hospital looked at me and referred me to a doctor and not to return to work until.
I see that doctor .That doctor didn't take Workmans comp.So I called my Commercial Risk Management to see where I had to go. they made me an appointment to go see a doctor. So I did. she looked at me and took me off work two weeks until I come back to see her with therapy 3xweek for 3 weeks.
I did all that and seen her in three weeks. she kept me out of work three more weeks. which was o.k. went and seen her after that three weeks, and she allowed me to return to work with restrictions..so I returned to work. My work unables me to follow doctors orders, I complained and complained that I wasn't supposed to do the stuff I was going.
I went into work on May 27 for two hours. That night I went to sleep and the next day I woke up in pain. I called in to work to let them know I wouldn't be there, because my back was killing me. that day I stayed in bed all day. that evening I called into work and told one of my mangers that I wouldn't be in because my back was hurting me.
The Next day I called work and told my manger that my back was killing me and that I wouldn't be in untill I go for my MRI because I know I messed it up..that Night I had to go to the emergency room. I was in PAIN so I went. the doctors there gave me a shot for pain and said they couldn't do anything until I had my MRI. To go home and rest and do not attend work until I see my regular doctor on June 10.
I called my Commercial Risk management worker and she told me that they wouldn't pay me for the days I took off because the doctor didn't take me off work. and asked my mother if it was a life threatening problem why I went to the Emergency room. My mother replied, with well she couldn't walk with out screaming in pain.so yeah it was to me. My worker told my mother that if it wasn't a life threatening problem that I shouldn't of went that the Emergency room was for REAL emergencys. And my mother replied with I guess, We'll have to get a lawyer and she told my mother not to call her anymore seeing that I had got a lawyer.
So now my bills are piling up and my phone been cut off my lights are next. No food and I have three boys.
