Ruptured Disc At Work
I would like all people to know the facts regarding an "on the job injury" here at Altus AFB, Ok. Misdiagnosing the ruptured disk by local physicians, but attempting to persuade me in believing it was depression, T.b. and just don't know. Not until I slipped into paralysis and pneumonia, was I hospitalized and given a MRI and the injury revealed a ruptured L4 disk with a loop in the nerve in that area.
Treatment didn't happen immediately, I was forced to remain in this horrible state for over a year in which at the time the civilian personnel office and workers comp ignored and went as far as preventing me of receiving medication or care. I was red flagged at the local hospital clinic and could not use my BCBS insurance or workers comp.
The alienation, the harassment, untrue stories of sexual preference, the physical abuse (still talked about in circles), the liquidation of assets, outright sale of personal belongings, loss of home, this is all just beginners. I'm a single parent, sole provider, both financially and emotionally to a teenage daughter. What she had gone thru witnessing the events of this period of three years resulted in many problems. My daughter left school, became chronically ill of headaches and depression. My daughter left home on her own believing I would be better off on my own (I was never allowed a nurse or any type of home assistance), truth was she simply couldn't stand the pain anymore.
The fact is the people in charge of workers comp are simply doing what they are instructed to do and supervision as well. Making an example of an injured person is a cowardly, evil behavior, it saddens me in knowing that this is my government.
I'm a federal worker, very proud, professional, patriotic, I ask nothing from no one, just my dignity, and adhere to the laws that I help defend and pay taxes to those agencies who betrayed a simple injury into a world of misery.
