Nurse Suffers Herniated Disc From Work Injury

Hi, I am a nurse who injured on the job way back in June of 2001. I have not been able to work since. I went to their ER....no x-rays were taken, no pain meds were given....I laid there for 7 hours in pain for them to send me home and tell me to return to work.

I went to my personal Dr. the next day. I could not function at home...let alone at work taking care of others. I was ignored. After many attempts to contact my nurse manager over 3 weeks) she finally returned my call to tell me to go to employee health, and that I was terminated. I was scared.

I was afraid to go there, afraid they would have me sign something I did not understand. So instead I called an attorney. During these weeks I had had an MRI and found I had a herniated disk.....thus the pain.

I have been fighting this battle for 9 months now. It is so unfair. I am a good honest person, who NEVER thought this would happen to me. I have 3 children to take care of alone, have almost lost my home and am having to fight this horrible battle to just get medical treatment, workmens comp and be without pain. This is not right.

I finally saw a court appointed Dr. this week, I hope this will be over soon. He was appalled at the size of the rupture in my spine and appalled at the way I'd been treated. So hopefully soon this nightmare will be over.

There is something really wrong when you can be treated like a dog as I have been.
