I worked for a place for 15 years and I thought I was going back to work as part time for while until I am actually recovered. Wrong. A month half later I was terminated from my employer. I never actually got a chance to go back to work at all.
What I have learned about this mess is this: There is no Dept Vocational Rehabilitation help, no training to find out what I actually can do. I could not get Unemployment, even the hearing was set but no lawyer so withdrew later on. No SSI, no SSDI, nothing. So I no income coming in at all after I was terminated.
I did find a job but in less than 15 hrs a week but income is definitely not enough for our expenses. WC does take so long which I can understand. What I do not understand how people were able to get help or go training to get help while we are for the WC to settle. Already had IME.
Here in this state is screwed! I still do not know if I can have the same job like I had. The Union is no big help. So I just challenge myself. If I did get a better job with more hours or more pay, and find out I can not handle it I just have to quit. And who fault is that?
Employers do not care what happens to you. All they care is getting their paycheck to the bank.
